Settling

Having a primary educarer will also help with your child’s settling process. We suggest that you visit regularly in the first week to become familiar with the environment and start to build relationships with the educarer’s. You are always welcome to stay, have a cup of tea or coffee and spend time engaged with your child at play. Your educarer will organise with you the times for your next visits and when it would be appropriate to try a leaving visit for an hour or so. Once your child starts their full sessions we ask that you give plenty of time to settle them in and always make sure to say goodbye and let them know you will be back to get them. This helps them to understand the process, that you will go now but you will come back.

We also have a centre cell phone that you are able to text or call at any time if you are concerned, worried or want to share any information with the educarers. We can also send you photos of your child at play so you can feel at ease seeing them settled and happy.  We do also recognise that some children enjoy having a security item or a favourite toy, and we support this.
